Job Overview
This role leads teams in hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, and on‑call rotation in a 24/7 Data Center environment. Candidates must work independently and manage teams effectively, prioritizing work, communicating clearly, and reacting quickly.
Key Responsibilities- Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators.
- Manage performance of diverse teams across locations.
- Develop career paths and update internal tools.
- Recruit, train, and staff data technicians.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations, queue management, shift arrangement, and hardware logistics.
- Act as subject‑matter expert across all aspects of data center operations.
- Measure and meet all operational KPIs and metrics.
- Lead process improvement, technology innovation, and automation.
- Serve as call leader for large‑scale outage events.
- Improve workflows and throughput for data center operations.
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs.
- Maintain on‑call schedule, coordinating absence and vacations.
- Passion for quality and quantity of services, continuously striving to improve customer experience.
- 2+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
- 2+ years of experience managing people in a technical environment.
- 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience in technical writing in a relevant field.
- Certifications in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA).
- Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and weekends.
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
