Description
Semmes Murphey Clinic is dedicated to delivering excellence in patient care through a team-based approach. We are seeking a Medical Records & Inventory Supply Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate electronic medical records (EMR) across two platforms and ensuring timely procurement and management of supplies for our ambulatory surgery center.
This is an onsite role; we are open Monday to Friday and closed on weekends and holidays.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Audit two EMR systems regularly to confirm patient consent, disclosures, operation notes, and clinic encounters are complete and accessible
- Scan, index, and organize documents between EMR systems for accuracy and efficiency
- Monitor scanned documents for quality and maintain meticulous records
- Manage inventory: order, track, and receive supplies and equipment; verify packing slips and purchase orders
- Research vendors for specialized equipment and maintain vendor relationships
- Anticipate supply needs based on schedules and respond quickly to changes
- Input patient supply charges and submit implant records for accurate billing
- Serve as backup for front desk receptionist when needed
Requirements
MINIMUM:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Competency in electronic document systems
- BLS Certification
PREFERRED:
- Experience in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC)
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Understands how to maintain proper levels of inventory and timely distribution
- Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate systems for the collection and maintenance of records and documentation pertinent to supplies, equipment, and implants
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), electronic medical records (EMR) and medical practice software
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to comprehend and interpret both verbal and written orders and direction
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of appropriate systems for the collection and maintenance of records and documentation
