The Certified Recreational Therapist is responsible for assessing clients' leisure and recreational activities, providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups, and establishing behavioral treatment goals consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Compass Intervention Center. The Certified Recreational Therapist creates a safe environment for clients, provides direct supervision, empowers clients, and teaches new coping tools.
Key Responsibilities include:To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate competency in the criteria listed below. Staff must be flexible for reassignment to care groups serving varied populations, including children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, chemical dependency, or dual diagnoses in a residential treatment setting.

Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Leisure Management, Recreational Therapy, or related field.
- Certified Recreational Therapist (CTRS) required.
- One year experience working with a mental health population;
Activity Therapy experience preferred.
- Knowledge of group leadership skills, age-specific growth and development, crisis, and behavior management preferred.
