Responsibility: maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and hospital common areas. Accountable for moving, transporting, and/or handling hazardous waste within the facility. The cleaning program focuses on reducing airborne allergens and contaminants as well as eliminating surface germs, bacteria, and viruses. This position helps ensure the patient’s stay is comfortable. Takes pride in both the small and big details of maintaining a clean hospital environment.

- Maintain floors on a daily basis in conjunction with Attendants Floor Care.
- Perform daily and terminal cleaning of equipment, beds, and patient care areas.
- Move, transport, and/or handle hazardous waste within the facility.
- Provide and maintain supplies and equipment in all patient care areas.
- Recognize and react appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care.
- Maintain and store equipment in a clean/safe condition.
- Adhere to and support Unit, Nursing, and Hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
- Demonstrate effective customer‑relations skills, promote a positive work environment, and contribute to the overall team effort in meeting customer satisfaction goals.
- Perform other job functions as assigned or requested.
- No education required.
- 1–3 years in housekeeping.
- No prior work experience.
- Sufficient education to read and write English, comprehend, and follow verbal and/or written instructions given in English.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, relevant equipment, machines, and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team setting.
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.
- May include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- Heavy work – exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
- Requires close visual acuity to perform certain activities.
- May require visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
