Utilization Management Coordinator

Compass Intervention Center is seeking a dynamic and talented Utilization Management Coordinator. Responsibilities
  • Possess knowledge of psychiatric clinical diagnosis and the ability to articulate those indicators professionally.
  • Evaluate client medical records to determine severity of client’s illness and determine the appropriateness of level of care.
  • Serve as liaison for clients and facility with insurance companies.
  • Negotiate and advocate for client length of stay and level of care.
  • Oversee utilization management activities with other departments to ensure reimbursement for services provided by the facility.
  • Manage client benefits with working knowledge of all levels of care offered.
  • Plan and manage the activities of the department in compliance with facility, state, federal and other accrediting and regulating agency requirements.
Qualifications
  • MA/MSW or RN highly preferred / Bachelor’s degree in social science required.
  • Prior experience working with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • Valid TN RN license, LCSW, or LPC preferred.
  • Prefer knowledge of health information management and health care delivery systems, medical and psychiatric terminology, confidentiality and release of information laws, leadership skills and various computer and word processing programs.
