Vital Medical Transport – Paramedic (Memphis, Tennessee)
Vital Medical Transport is seeking Paramedics for our Memphis division. We offer full‑time and part‑time positions with competitive compensation and benefits.
OverviewParamedics provide basic emergency and non‑emergency paramedical care to the ill and injured, respond to emergency calls, perform medical services, transport patients to medical facilities, and continue to give care during transport.
Responsibilities- Respond to non‑emergency and emergency medical calls for assistance.
- Assess a patient’s condition and determine a course of treatment.
- Administer medications as outlined in the approved Standing Medical Orders.
- Use backboards and restraints to keep patients still and safe in an ambulance for transport.
- Help transfer patients to the emergency department of a healthcare facility and report observations and treatment to the staff.
- Create a patient care report and fully document the medical care given to the patient.
- Replace used supplies and check or clean equipment after each use.
- Safely drive an ambulance and transport patients between facilities.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Tennessee EMT‑Basic License.
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Current CPR Certification.
- High‑proficiency BLS service experience.
- Interpersonal skills including compassion, listening, and communication.
- Problem‑solving and organizational skills.
- PHTLS Certificate.
- ITLS Certificate.
- National Registry Certifications.
- Pass a post‑offer, pre‑employment physical examination, drug test, and criminal background check.
- May be required to submit to annual TB and rubella screening.
- Work within the Compliance Program and maintain all certifications and licenses throughout employment.
Physical Requirements
- Work involves exposure to the elements, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
- Must be able to work in all environments and stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift up to 150 pounds multiple times throughout a shift.
- Exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations; must remain calm and take control in all environments.
- Work with blood or blood‑borne pathogens; must maintain safety protocols when working with patients.
Hourly Wage: $18–$24.50
