Mental Health Technician – MHT
Compass Intervention Center is hiring a full‑time, day‑shift Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our interdisciplinary team and provide excellent care for patients. The MHTs support patient care through implementing therapeutic approaches and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care within a multidisciplinary team approach.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Maintain accurate and complete data and records.
- Intervene with suicidal gestures, inappropriate behaviors, elopements, etc., using proper HWC technique.
- Communicate therapeutically with patients, helping to develop boundaries and social skills.
- Direct or redirect behaviors, demonstrating appropriate behavioral consequences. Respond appropriately to impulsivity issues as they relate to age‑specific criteria.
- Recognize and communicate the physical and psychological status of the patients under your care.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

- Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer a bachelor’s degree or college courses in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human development.
- Licensure and/or Certification: CPR certification.
- Experience: No minimum required. Prefer one year of experience as a nurse’s aide, mental health aide, psych aide, or equivalent in a rehabilitation, psychiatric, or similar setting.
- Physical/General: Ability to sustain physical activity and remain on feet throughout the scheduled shift; lifting requirement of 50 lbs; SAMA training required.
