Certified Medical Assistant – The Medical Group

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare invites experienced medical assistants to join our team in Memphis, TN. We provide a collaborative environment where dedication and compassion deliver quality care.

• Assist patients throughout their visit, ensuring a friendly and professional experience.
• Perform clerical activities: schedule appointments, manage diagnostic imaging exams, retrieve medical histories, complete prior authorizations, and return phone calls.
• Collect and record patient data and medical information accurately.
• Assist with physical examination preparations and specimen collection.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and first aid under provider direction.
• Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and equipment for infection control.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Technical Degree or Diploma – Medical Assistant

• 3–5 years as a Medical Assistant or similar
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program may substitute for one year of experience.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in EMR navigation and documentation.
• Motivational interviewing and teach-back method competency.
• Ability to act quickly in emergency situations.
• Independent work ability and team collaboration.

• Heart Saver – American Heart Association
• Basic Life Support – American Heart Association
• AAMA Certified Medical Assistant – American Association of Medical Assistants
• AMT Registered Medical Assistant – American Medical Technologists
• NCCT Medical Assistant – National Center for Competency Testing
• NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant – National Health career Association
• NAHP Certified Medical Assistant – National Association of Health Professionals

No supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position.

• Climbing, pushing, standing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
• Medium work lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently.
• Close visual acuity and color vision required for computer and patient work.
• Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
• Exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous materials.
