A Brief Overview
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for providing occupational therapy services to patients in accordance with professional and organizational standards of treatment as prescribed by the attending physician .Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Performs patient treatments based on written treatment plan, professional and Methodist Healthcare standards of patient treatment.
- Identifies, provides, and assesses effectiveness of patient and family education.
- Documents treatment and general condition of patient noting significant and subtle changes in patient’s condition in a timely and accurate manner.
- Promotes professional practice and communication among all members of Alliance Home Care.
- Associate's Degree Occupational Therapy
- No prior work experience
- Heartsaver CPR AED (CPR) American Heart Association
- Occupational Therapy Assistant Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Occupational Therapy
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records.
- Ability to communicate verbally and effectively with Associates, physicians, and other outside professionals.
- Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of work flow.
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job.
- Exposure to patient body fluids.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
- Ability to read and write and to communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.
- Normal or corrected-to-normal vision, including peripheral vision.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 150 lbs. as well as carry up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand, squat, reach, bend, walk, twist, and sit in one place throughout the shift.
- Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive, coordinated motions.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
