Job Summary

Responsible for the daily completion of claims edit, denial, and no response billing functions for timely follow-up. Handles internal and external questions to completion. Understands both paper and electronic claims as well as client invoice billing. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Handles communication with patients, insurance companies, and other BMG personnel.
• Bills, collects, and submits insurance and TPA claims according to payer guidelines and procedures.
• Reviews and processes credit balances from reports.
• Works insurance denials via paper and electronic queues.
• Monitors and processes claim statuses, including edits and no responses.
• Completes assigned goals.

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum:
  Experience in healthcare or relevant coursework.
• Preferred:
  Over one year of government or commercial billing in healthcare.

Education

• Minimum:
  High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred:
  Certification in medical billing or coursework; associate degree in Business, Finance, or related field.

Training

• Minimum:
  Basic computer and keyboard skills.
• Preferred: MS Office, advanced phone system, knowledge of insurance billing, experience with Epic, strong communication and customer service skills.
