Training Technician; TITLE Security Clearance

Position: TRAINING TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32) with Security Clearance
Duties As a TRAINING TECHNICIAN, GS-1702-09, you will verify member eligibility, course availability, and validate school orders, travel orders, PCS procedures, and pre-requisites are properly complied in accordance with National Guard Bureau (NGB) guidance. Manage formal schools training budget, to include all formal schools and Mission Essential Skills Training (MEST). Assist in all aspects of Education, Training and Distance Learning Programs.

Provide education and training advisory services to commanders and staff on all education and training programs. Assist with the development of education and training instructional products. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
* Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

* Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

* For positions requiring a security clearance of (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
* This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
* For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
* Work may potentially require the employee to be exposed to search and recovery operations in direct response to a military mishap or when providing support to Civil Authorities during an Incident Response as part of domestic operations.
* Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
