You will establish and refine quality control processes, conduct thorough reviews and audits, and translate quality data into actionable improvements. Summary of Responsibilities- Review and verify client deliverables for accuracy and completeness, focusing on:
Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Write-Up Work (Financial Close), Sales Tax Filings (Monthly/Quarterly/Annual), Business Tax Filings, Personal Property Tax (PPT) Filings, Quarterly and Year-End Payroll Filings, Forms 1099. - Maintain quality control procedures and checklists to ensure consistency and compliance across all deliverables.
- Collaborate with other service lines to ensure accuracy and adherence to relevant standards, laws, and deadlines.
- Manage and track non-conformances, root-cause analyses, and corrective actions; monitor the effectiveness of fixes.
- Provide clear, factual communication of issues and resolutions to internal stakeholders and, where appropriate, to clients.
- Extract and interpret quality data to support process improvements, resource planning, and risk mitigation.
- Mentor junior staff on quality standards, review techniques, and regulatory requirements.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in accounting, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting within a professional services or accounting firm.
- Deep technical understanding of financial close processes, tax filings (sales, business, payroll, PPT), and related compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to detect errors, inconsistencies, and risk exposures in complex financial documents and reporting packages.
- Demonstrated experience designing, improving, or enforcing quality control procedures and review frameworks.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills — able to quickly isolate root causes and implement corrective action.
- High standards for documentation accuracy, process discipline, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage high task volume with urgency while maintaining precision.
- Clear, direct communicator who presents factual findings concisely and professionally.
- Proficient in accounting systems, advanced Excel, and workflow management tools.
