The Loan Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the loan processing and servicing functions within the bank. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, maintains operational efficiency, and supports the bank's commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of loan documentation and servicing, and a passion for community banking.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor loan operations staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and compliant loan operations.
- Coordinate with lending officers, compliance, and other departments to ensure smooth loan processing and servicing.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and maintenance of loan documentation for consumer, commercial, and real estate loans.
- Ensure timely and accurate loan boarding, funding, and servicing activities.
- Monitor loan portfolio for exceptions, delinquencies, and compliance issues.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state banking regulations, including HMDA, RESPA, TRID, and others.
- Participate in internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry best practices.
- Manage loan systems and software, ensuring data integrity and system optimization.
- Generate and analyze operational reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with IT and vendors to troubleshoot and enhance loan systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in loan operations, preferably in a community banking environment.
- Strong understanding of loan documentation, compliance, and servicing procedures.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in loan processing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
