Hiring Salary: $22.77/Hourly
Job SummaryThe Financial Coordinator coordinates all daily financial activities for the Department of Preventive Medicine, Radiation Oncology, and Physician Assistant Studies that follow the institutional policies and procedures. This position works extensively with faculty and staff to perform financial duties including reconciliation, payroll, budget, and post-award administration.
Responsibilities- Assists with the review of restricted account expenses for timely reconciliations.
- Reviews state and gift ledgers; identifies financial discrepancies and makes corrections.
- Reviews and approves invoice payments in the financial system.
- Prepares and submits transfer vouchers and cost transfers in DASH/Oracle.
- Initiates appropriate contract documents (payable or receivable) for business vendors.
- Reviews and prepares budgets to actuals for discretionary and sponsored projects.
- Processes requisitions and NCJs, if applicable, for special purchases that contain restrictive terms and conditions; assists PIs with procuring sources.
- Monitors payments for contracts and maintains audit trails.
- Serve as backup for Accounting Assistants and Administrative Coordinator.
- Monitors and manages monthly grant expenditures to ensure compliance with appropriate guidelines, auditing, and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED (Transcript required). OR Associate’s Degree and three (3) years of related experience. OR Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of related experience. - Experience:
Five (5) years of related experience.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Ability to read and proof documents for accuracy.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and complete work accurately.
- Superior knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping.
- Ability to multi-task and complete assignments within identified deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and writing skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers.
This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
