Summary: As a Guest Services Intern, you will work a front line position to first learn more about the company and the department itself. You will then begin to dive into behind the scenes work such as Scheduling, Employee Relations, and Budgeting, to help further your understanding of the management side of business.
Things You Will Learn:
- Such as Night Audit, Supervisor, Trainer, etc.
- Learning how we investigate guest complaints, and what sort of compensation we offer depending on the issue and severity. This also includes reviewing guest comment cards.
- Determining how business may flow in the next coming weeks
- Schedule team members to cover the desk 24/7, staggering in at different shift times to cover business needs, at multiple properties
- See how a Performance Evaluation is determined, how a Disciplinary Action is written, and how Incentives are calculated for Employee Retention
Reaching out to applicants, what to look for when interviewing applicants, paperwork needed for orientation, etc.
- You won’t just be taught by another line level employee. Our dedicated Intern Manager will spend office time to show you the above things, as well as have you shadow a Supervisor for a day to see how it differs from a line level position. This will also include working in other departments to learn about their operations and different manager styles.
