Construction Director

We are seeking an accomplished Construction Director to lead large‑scale fiber‑to‑the‑home (FTTH) and utility infrastructure projects throughout the Memphis region. This role oversees all phases of construction—from design and permitting through field execution and closeout—ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings substantial fiber or telecommunications experience, strong field leadership, and the ability to coordinate across diverse teams, contractors, municipalities, and stakeholders. This position also requires excellent analytical skills to evaluate, validate, and negotiate contractor change orders.

• Provide leadership and oversight for all construction activities, including design coordination, permitting, field execution, and project closeout.
• Utilize critical path methodology and advanced scheduling practices to maintain timelines and proactively manage risks.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules and reporting using platforms such as MS Project and SharePoint.
• Oversee contract administration and vendor performance across multiple contractors and external partners.
• Lead resource planning, quality assurance, and day‑to‑day coordination between internal teams, subcontractors, utilities, and external stakeholders.
• Review contractor change orders for accuracy, cost and schedule impact, and alignment with contract scope.
• Support project financial processes including invoicing, cost tracking, forecasting, and documentation management.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards including OSHA and NESC requirements.

• Experience in construction or project management within fiber, telecommunications, or related infrastructure sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Construction, or related), or a closely related infrastructure discipline.
• Strong understanding of fiber construction methods, safety protocols, permitting, and environmental requirements.
• Proficiency with project management systems and tools (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage complex, multi‑phase projects.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally as needed.
