As a Technical Sourcing Program Manager on the Global Technical Sourcing (GTS) team for Medtronic’s Spine and Biologics division, you will support the New Product Development (NPD) lifecycle from sourcing to launch, aligning supplier technology with product roadmaps to ensure predictable supply and competitive advantage.
Responsibilities- Partner with cross‑functional team members and suppliers to identify and plan GTS deliverables needed to support all phases of the NPD program through commercial launch.
- Lead Phase Gate and Transfer to Operations reviews with stakeholders for each NPD phase.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers aligned to program objectives and sourcing strategies.
- Optimize supply chain flow to drive cost savings and cycle‑time efficiency.
- Negotiate material costs and program budgets, influencing design and manufacturing strategies.
- Oversee supplier DRM activities and engage suppliers early on NUDs (New, Unique, Difficult components).
- Collaborate with Category Management and Legal to create applicable legal agreements with suppliers.
- Own mitigation plans to reduce supplier and supply‑related BOM risks.
- Act as liaison between suppliers and the project team to resolve supplier‑caused issues.
- Manage product orders to ensure accurate quantities and configurations arrive on time for all program stages.
- Manage inventories per NPD inventory policies, build needs, and commercial launch plans.
- Partner with Supplier Quality Engineering to drive PPAP qualification activities at the supplier.
- Develop and oversee supplier capacity plans for post‑launch availability.
- Identify and capture future supplier cost‑down opportunities.
- Partner with Category Management to secure supplier pricing agreements.
- Support inventory and ERP production release activities.
- Provide hyper‑care support after commercial launch.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant technical and/or sourcing experience, or advanced degree with at least 3 years of relevant technical and/or sourcing experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with suppliers across a broad range of manufacturing technologies, especially machined tight‑tolerance component/assembly suppliers, OEMs, and contract manufacturers.
- Proven communication, leadership, and team‑building skills.
- Extensive experience in project management for medical device development; PMI‑certified professional.
- Proficiency in supplier management, negotiation, and overall supply chain processes.
- Skilled in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies with expertise in Design for Reliability and Manufacturability.
- Strong business acumen and ability to influence objectives in a matrix organization.
- Broad manufacturing and material/component replacement experience.
- Knowledge of design, production, and supplier‑related efforts for medical device development.
- Ability to travel 10‑25%.

Benefits& Compensation
Salary ranges for U.S. (excl. PR) locations: USD $ – $. This position is eligible for a short‑term incentive: the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). Base salary applies across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California.
