Job DescriptionThe Test Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining test procedures, hardware, and software for electronic circuit board production. This position involves collaborating with cross‑functional peers on various projects, reviewing circuit board designs for testability, and supporting manufacturing with failure analysis and tester debugging.
Responsibilities- Design and develop test procedures, tester hardware, and software.
- Work with cross‑functional teams on customer‑focused projects.
- Review circuit board designs for testability requirements.
- Support manufacturing with failure analysis, tester debugging, and reduction of equipment downtime.
- Prepare testing recommendations and document procedures from product design through initial production.
- Generate reports and analyze test data, providing documentation and recommendations.
- Regularly review test equipment designs, data, and RMA issues with customers.
- Lead the design and fabrication of testing and test control apparatus and equipment.
- Coordinate engineering activities for development, procurement, installation, and calibration of test instruments and equipment.
- Determine test conditions and sequences for test operations.
- Oversee operational, functional, and performance phases of tests.
- Perform engineering test functions and interpret test data to prepare technical reports.
- Conduct tests using computer software and hardware on machinery and equipment.
- Develop and maintain semi‑routine techniques according to established standards, including ISO and QS development standards.
- Provide training for new procedures to production testing staff.
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations and company security policy.
- Test plan development and execution.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and C#.
- Experience with test scripts and test development.
- Bachelor of Science in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 1–2 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing‑related industry.
- Experience in electronics and hardware testing.
- Ability to build and create test benches.
- Understanding of schematics.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with scripting languages like Linux is a plus.
- Ability to understand and modify test scripts.
- Capability to solve random failures through analysis of test logs, software, physical measurement, or visual identification.
- Project management skills.
- Contribute to the development of DOE and data gathering to resolve ongoing failure trends.
This role is within a contract manufacturing environment, requiring adherence to company policies and standards, including safety, health, and security regulations.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
