- Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large multidisciplinary projects or medium-sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity, typically involving a large project staff.
- Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
- Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
- Coordinate staffing and workload of staff through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
- Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with other Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines.
- Work with the Business/Accounting Managers, Project Coordinators, and Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews.
- Implement QA/QC procedures and execute training for personnel as established.
- Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with the team to ensure that work is completed within the parameters of the agreed‑upon scope, schedule, and budget.
- Supervise project staff and act as a mentor for less‑experienced Project Managers.
- Work with internal and external resources to put together contract drawings and documents in accordance with HDR’s quality standards.
- Manage construction phase services such as submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review, coordination, and correspondence.
- Manage technical components of pursuits and work with the marketing team to produce high‑quality pursuit documents.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 10 years related experience.
- A minimum 5 years project management experience.
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license).
- MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus).
- Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills.
