• NYS TESOL Certification

• Experience working with English Language Learners in grades UPK-second grade is preferred
• Experience at prekindergarten through second grade with a commitment to developmentally appropriate high-quality instruction
• Experience with authentic assessment data to drive instruction
• Experience with instructional planning to scaffold and differentiate instruction for ELLs at all proficiency levels

The purpose of this 3 week program is to offer students a "jump start" into the school year by providing our youngest ELLs who have not experienced a pre-kindergarten or preschool program with language, speaking and listening, literacy, and social opportunities prior to the start of kindergarten. This will run 7/27/26-8/13/26 (Monday-Thursday only).

• Work on a team to co-plan, co-teach and reflect with a general education teacher, other Jump Start Teachers and shared teaching assistant.
• Provide daily instruction aligned with the Academic and Linguistic Demands and domains of early childhood learning to incoming kindergarten students who have not been part of our Greece UPK programming.
• Interact with families of ELLs to help parents understand school expectations and culture in US schools.
• Provide communication as needed to families via Talking Points, Propio Language Line or other communication tools.
• Support arrival and dismissal procedures daily.
• Attend a weekly ENL staff meeting from 8:30-9:30am.
• Attend Summer Program Family Night Celebration on 8/11/26.
