$19.10/HOURLY

This is a part-time position without benefits.

Singleton Preschool is currently seeking an enthusiastic and passionate educator for a rewarding position of Lead Teacher.

Singleton Preschool is a traditional preschool that provides a safe, developmentally appropriate and community-centered learning environment for students ages 2-5.

Duties:

* Will work under the direct supervision of the Preschool Director, Facility Manager, and Assistant Facility Manager to instruct children in activities needed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school.

* Responsible for the daily planning and execution of all classroom activities.

* Organizes and leads activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development; such as games, arts and crafts, music and storytelling.

* Teaches basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene and social skills. Observes and evaluates children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.

* Responsible for maintaining records for each child and preparing progress or other reports on assigned children for parents.

* Responsible for holding a parent-teacher conference on each child at least once a year.

* Responsible for maintaining discipline in a preschool classroom in line with Singleton Preschool's Education goals.

* Responsible for keeping the classroom visually appealing, such as bulletin boards, displays, etc.

* Assists with all facets of preschool special events/activities, including working some nights and/or weekend dates.

* Must be able to relate to adults on all levels of the socioeconomic structure of the community.

* Must be able to recognize problems and develop strategies for solving them. Other duties as assigned from higher management.

Qualifications:

* Must love children and be able to relate to them.

* Must be agile enough to perform a job as a teacher of small children.

* May need to lift items of at least 20 pounds.

* Ability to function independently, attend to detail, work under pressure and multi-task.

* Must be at least 21 years of age

Education and Training:

* Must have a high school diploma or GED.

* Must have Early Childhood training.

* Must have a MINIMUM OF FOUR (4) YEARS' EXPERIENCE working with children in an early childhood setting.

Required:

* Must possess a valid Tennessee driver's license.

* Must pass a background screen, driver's license verification and physical exam, including a drug test.
