Job Description
The Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing professional development and educational training for behavioral health professionals, addiction counselors, and students. This role ensures high-quality, evidence-based learning opportunities that support clinical competency, licensure requirements, ethical practice, and workforce development in substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Executive Director
SUBORDINATES: Training Assistant
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities Training Coordination & Administration- Plan, schedule, and coordinate trainings, workshops, and continuing education events (in-person, virtual, and hybrid).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for trainers, speakers, students, and participants.
- Manage training calendars, registrations, attendance tracking, and post-training evaluations.
- Coordinate logistics including venues, virtual platforms, materials, and technology needs.
- Support development and implementation of training curricula focused on substance use disorders.
- Co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Trauma-informed care.
- Evidence-based practices.
- Ethics and professional standards.
- Assist in aligning training with state licensure, certification, and continuing education requirements.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to identify training needs and gaps.
- Maintain accurate training records, certificates of completion, and CE documentation.
- Support compliance with accrediting bodies, licensing boards, and funding requirements.
- Prepare reports on training outcomes, attendance, and program effectiveness.
- Coordinate with colleges, universities, clinical supervisors, and community partners.
- Support student and intern training experiences, orientations, and learning requirements.
- Assist with promotion of trainings through email, website updates, and social media.
- Collect and analyze participant feedback to improve training quality.
- Stay current on best practices and emerging trends in behavioral health and addiction treatment.
- Master's degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Public Health, or a related field.
- Experience coordinating training, education programs, or professional development.
- Knowledge of substance use disorders, mental health, and co-occurring treatment models.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with virtual training platforms and basic data tracking.
- Attention to detail and follow-through
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple training courses simultaneously
- Professional discretion and confidentiality
- Commitment to equity, ethics, and trauma-informed practices
