Job Title: 3rd Grade ELA Teacher

Southern Avenue Charter School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 3rd Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to support student growth in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The ideal candidate is passionate about literacy instruction, student-centered learning, and creating a positive, engaging classroom environment.

• Plan and deliver engaging ELA instruction aligned with state standards and school curriculum
• Develop lesson plans that support diverse learning styles and student needs
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote a safe and supportive learning environment
• Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly
• Support students in developing strong reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and vocabulary skills
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and school leadership
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required)
• Valid teaching certification/licensure (preferred or required per state guidelines)
• Experience teaching elementary ELA, preferably at the 3rd-grade level
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Experience with data-driven instruction
• Familiarity with charter school environments
• Passion for student achievement and equity in education
