Gestalt Community Schools is a system of K–12 college‑preparatory charter schools in targeted Tennessee communities. GCS schools provide strong academic outcomes for their scholars through initiatives, including meaningful community involvement. GCS catalyzes community leadership to help revitalize the neighborhood as it operates its schools. GCS believes that the most effective method to support student achievement is an integration of education and community—a true "gestalt".

Responsibilities
  • Design weekly lesson plans.
  • Develop standards‑based assessments.
  • Analyze assessment data and create intervention plans.
  • Integrate technology effectively and implement project‑based learning.
  • Create lesson plans.
  • Teach scholars a common‑core curriculum.
  • Integrate technology into lessons and plans.
  • Motivate scholars toward achievement.
  • Meet with parents regarding performance and conduct.
  • Develop scholar improvement plans.
  • Work with special educators in a co‑teaching model for students with IEP plans.
  • Plan work with school and network teams.
  • Attend weekly required professional development training.
  • Create and review student assessments.
  • Tutor students or perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Hold a current TN Teaching license in Elementary Education with appropriate endorsement codes (Required).
  • Have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Proven track record of academic success as evidenced in TVAAS, state assessments, and value‑add data (Preferred).
  • Hold the belief that all students can learn at high academic levels.
  • Use digital content, technology integration, and project‑based learning in a highly proficient manner.
  • Ability to work in an extended‑day environment.
  • Ability to teach in an inclusive environment with a co‑teacher.
  • Good communication and written skills required.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
