SY Grade Teacher

Gestalt Community Schools is a system of K–11 college‑preparatory charter schools located in targeted Tennessee communities. GCS schools provide strong academic outcomes for scholars through initiatives that include meaningful community involvement. The schools catalyze community leadership to help revitalize the neighborhoods in which they operate, integrating education and community to support student achievement.

Responsibilities

• Design weekly lesson plans, develop standards-based assessments, analyze assessment data, and create intervention plans for scholars.
• Integrate technology effectively in the classroom and implement project-based learning.
• Teach scholars a common core-based curriculum and motivate them toward achievement.
• Meet with parents regarding performance and conduct.
• Develop scholar improvement plans and work with special educators in a co-teaching model for students with IEP plans.
• Plan work with school and network teams.
• Attend weekly required professional development training.
• Create and review student assessments.
• Tutor students and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Holds a current TN teaching license in Elementary Education with endorsement code 120 (required).
• Has a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Proven track record of academic success evident in TVAAS, state assessments, and value-add data (preferred).
• Believes that all students can learn at high academic levels.
• Uses digital content, technology integration, and project-based learning at a highly proficient level.
• Can work in an extended-day environment.
• Can teach in an inclusive environment with a co-teacher.
• Has good communication and written skills.
• Is a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
