Position: Physician (Psychiatrist)- SARRTP/PTSD
The psychiatrist performs general psychiatric assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team. The psychiatrist will work closely with their colleagues to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art mental health care.

This position is primarily assigned to the Substance Abuse/PTSD Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program, but the incumbent will provide psychiatric care to Veterans across the Medical Center.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

* The psychiatrist will perform evaluations, diagnosis(es), treatments, medication management and preventions of mental health disorders

* Perform comprehensive examinations and assessments, determining diagnosis(es), and completing medical work-ups, including admissions and discharges.

* Develop and implement treatment plans, referring to other specialties or appropriate community resources.

* Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team and collaborates with providers across the Medical Center.

* Provide appropriate clinical documentation of patient care in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) in a timely manner. Training regarding the use of CPRS will be provided by the VAMC. All documentation shall be completed in accordance with VA policy and procedures.

* Ensure accreditation requirements are met for all applicable survey and inspection processes to include, but are not limited to compliance with JCHACO, CARF, and OIG.

* Follow all VA guidelines regarding infection control and safety.

* Adhere to all quality performance measures.

* Provide examinations/reviews as assigned to support Mental Health services.

* Collaborate with contracted community Mental Health programs to assist/coordinate discharge planning, medication and follow-up appointments and continue of care.

* May participate in supervision of residents and medical students assigned to mental health programs.

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment):
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

Pay:
Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
