Job DescriptionUNLV invites applications for Plastic Surgery, Assistant/Associate/Professor to join the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. The position focuses on breast reconstruction and reconstructive microsurgery.
Role of the PositionThe Department seeks a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level. The successful candidate will have specialized training and interest in breast reconstruction, reconstructive microsurgery, and gender‑affirmation surgery, along with expertise in complex reconstruction of the trunk, head & neck, and extremities.
The position offers exposure to advanced reconstructive microsurgery, including breast microsurgery, extremity salvage, head‑and‑neck reconstruction, complex trunk and trauma cases, replantation, robotics, complex wound care, and management of traumatic injuries such as facial fractures and burns at the State of Nevada’s only Level I Trauma Center.
Responsibilities- Patient care with reconstructive needs in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Research and teaching (didactic and bedside) for plastic surgery residents and fellows, trainees in other residencies, and medical students.
- Take plastic surgery call.
- MD or DO from an accredited college or university; completion of an ACGME accredited residency program.
- Board certified or in the process of obtaining board certification in Plastic Surgery.
- Fellowship training in reconstructive microsurgery required; microsurgery fellowship completion preferred.
- Eligibility for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, Nevada pharmacy and DEA licenses, and malpractice insurance.
- Ability to obtain privileges at affiliated hospitals and other sites.
- Evidence of scholarly activity and academic experience will be considered in the rank recommendation.
