Psychiatry Services – Schedule of Services
We are seeking Board Certified / Board Eligible Psychiatric Physician Services on site, in accordance with the specifications outlined herein.
Qualifications
License:
- Contractor’s physician(s) must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- Physicians with past or current restrictions, suspensions, revocations, or surrendered licenses will not be considered.
Board Certification:
- All contractor’s physician(s) shall be Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and hold current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (or equivalent).
- All continuing education must be kept current and documented annually.
Technical Proficiency:
- Physicians must demonstrate proficiency in psychiatric care, including the ability to communicate fluently in English.
- Documentation of competency, licensure, certification, and training history must be maintained and provided upon request.
- Physicians must comply with facility medical staff by-laws, rules, and regulations.
Scope of Care
Direct Patient Care (Approx. 95%):
Inpatient Care – duties include but are not limited to:
- Admissions, diagnoses, treatment planning, and discharge/transfer of patients.
- Ongoing management and documentation of care.
- Collaboration with mental health staff on patient care.
Outpatient Care – duties include:
- Evaluation of new patient referrals.
- Management of severely mentally ill patients.
- Conducting consults, follow-ups, and post-discharge care.
- Ensuring patients are seen within 30 days.
Clinic and Residential Care:
- Operating outpatient psychiatry clinics, examining patients, interpreting reports, and maintaining timely clinic attendance.
- Typical case load: 6 to 6.5 patient bookable hours/day (e.g., 6 patients at 1 hour each, or 12 patients at 30 minutes each).
- Provide professional psychiatric expertise for peer review of cases including patient complaints, mental health case reviews, benefit appeals, and tort claims.
Administrative Duties (Approx. 5%)
- Attend staff meetings as required by facility leadership.
- Communicate regularly with designated facility contacts regarding scheduling and compliance.

Clinic
Hours:
- General Mental Health Clinic:
Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm - Inpatient Psychiatry:
Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm - Specialty Clinics:
Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm - Includes PRRC, MHICM, PTSD Clinic, and Residential Rehabilitation Programs.
On-Call Coverage:
- Physicians must provide on-call coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- On-call requirements:
- Available by phone within 15 minutes
