The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Department of Anesthesiology, is seeking physician anesthesiologists for full‑time academic faculty and clinician positions.
Individuals with fellowship training in the following are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Critical Care Medicine (CCM)
- Regional Anesthesia (RA)
- Chronic Pain Management (CP)
- Obstetrical (OB) Anesthesia
- Trauma Anesthesia
Qualified generalists are also being sought. The patient population includes a heavy caseload in ortho, trauma, and high risk OB.
ResponsibilitiesTenure and non‑tenure track positions are available.
Duties include direct patient care as well as teaching and supervision of nurse anesthetists, students, fellows, and residents.
Opportunities for clinical and basic‑science research are available and participation is encouraged.
Academic rank is commensurate with training and experience and compensation is highly competitive. Eligible candidates should be board certified or eligible for examination by the ABA and eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee.

- Board certification or Board eligibility required.
- Completion of an accredited residency required and sub‑certifications/training highly preferred.
- A current unrestricted licensure as a Physician in Tennessee.
- Current certification DEA number.
- Relocation is not required, however the work is onsite.
