General Dentist Professor - Diagnostic Sciences

Overview

The UT Health Science Center College of Dentistry in Memphis is seeking a highly motivated General Dentist to join the Department of Diagnostic Sciences as a full-time Open Rank Professor. The successful candidate must be licensable in Tennessee and will contribute to excellence in education and patient care.

• Supervise the clinical activities of predoctoral students in diagnosis, oral medicine, oral radiology, health data collection, and related disciplines.
• Develop and deliver innovative teaching materials and methods to enhance student learning outcomes.
• Mentor and advise students.
• Oversee and guide students in clinical settings, ensuring high standards of patient care.
• Diagnose and manage oral health conditions, including systemic conditions with oral manifestations.
• Integrate evidence-based practices into course content and clinical training.
• Engage in scholarly activities such as research, publications, or presentations at professional conferences.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other service activities within the college and university.

EDUCATION: DDS, DMD, or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Strong clinical skills in oral diagnosis and management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Ensure high-quality teaching that is integrated, innovative, evidence-based, and compliant with CODA accreditation standards. Prior teaching experience in a dental school setting is preferred but not required. Strong track record of excellence in teaching, service, patient care, research, and scholarship preferred.

LICENSES: Active or eligible for a dental license in Tennessee.
