Overview

Aalchem LLC is a wholesale chemical distributor established in January 2002 and headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Aalchem owns and operates four warehouses, which also incorporate a HAZMAT facility, analytical laboratory, and chemical blending capabilities.

From two employees during its first year of operation in 2002, Aal Chem has grown to a staff of more than 70 employees whose dedication is instrumental in ensuring that our customers get the chemical products they need on a timely basis.

Responsibilities

To support our growth, Aalchem is seeking an experienced Customer Service Specialist (CSS) to join our team. An integral position within our organization, a CSS will create relationships with customers through prompt and accurate communication, detailed processing of sales orders and continued follow-through to meet customer needs.

  • Procurement:
    Process orders, check orders for accuracy, up-selling/suggestive selling, follow-up on back-orders.
  • Record Retention:
    Compile and update physical or digital files on customers; monitor backordered items and allocations.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a customer service/sales support role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, organizational and communication skills (both verbal & written).
  • Strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, patience, and flexibility.
  • Computer savvy with experience using an ERP system, Excel spreadsheets, Word, and the Internet.
