Entry‑Level Field Technician – Construction Materials Testing – Memphis, Tennessee. Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek‑PSI) is searching for a Field CMT Technician to join our Building & Construction team in our Memphis, TN office. • Perform a variety of testing, project‑specific observations, and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.
• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (e.g., soil, concrete, or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting.
• Work utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
• Use specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks.
• Make detailed observations and give limited interpretation of results.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
• Operate a calculator to calculate mathematical test results.
• Communicate effectively with client and project teams.
• Adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety and the safety of others.

• Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and solid interpersonal skills.
• External (or task‑related) certifications based on region and state may be required.
• Basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
• Ability to read and understand work plans.
• Must be able to work off‑shift and overtime as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.

• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds if needed; occasionally more with assistance.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and discern sound distinctions.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold).
• Ability to climb occasionally.

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience performing field and/or construction materials testing and/or inspections is preferred.
  • No experience required – we offer in‑house training!
• ACI/ICC/TDOT certifications are highly preferred.
