Construction Materials Technician 1st shift, contract to hire, $18-$20/hr

Job Description

We are seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team in Memphis, TN. This role involves supporting upcoming projects in West Tennessee and NE Arkansas. You will learn to perform quality assurance and quality control testing on concrete, soils, and aggregates from commercial construction sites. This includes tests performed both in the field and in the materials lab.

Responsibilities

* Conduct QA/QC testing on construction materials including concrete, soils, and aggregates.

* Perform field and lab tests such as slump, air content, compression, and temperature for concrete.

* Conduct density tests for soil and aggregates, as well as proctor and Atterberg limits tests.

* Assist in maintaining accurate records and reports of testing results.

Essential Skills

* Basic knowledge of construction processes and materials.

* Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Previous experience in testing construction materials such as concrete, soils, or aggregates is preferred.

* ACI Level I Concrete Testing Certification is preferred.

Work Environment

The role involves working on commercial construction sites and in the lab. Flexibility is required, as work hours may vary depending on project needs, including early mornings or evenings, particularly when concrete is being poured.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bartlett, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
