We are seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee concrete and asphalt paving operations for a respected commercial construction company. This onsite role manages field crews, subcontractors, and project progress to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-schedule performance. The position requires strong heavy civil experience, proven field leadership, and the ability to direct multiple teams on complex paving projects in Memphis and other regional job sites.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily field operations for concrete, asphalt, and airfield paving projects.
- Manage and support six direct reports through scheduling, training, and mentorship.
- Provide leadership to subcontractors and coordinate work to meet project specifications.
- Ensure all work aligns with plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Maintain strict safety, environmental, and quality control standards on the jobsite.
- Monitor production, schedule, and cost performance to keep work efficient and on track.
- Lead and participate in project meetings with internal teams and client representatives.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation, including timecards, field reports, and project updates.
- Foster a professional, positive work environment focused on communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
- Support administrative tasks involving accounting, HR, and project controls as needed.
- Promote ongoing development and training for field staff.
- Travel to additional project sites as required for supervision and field oversight.
- Associate degree; construction-related training preferred.
- 3+ years of experience managing crews in heavy civil construction.
- Hands‑on experience with concrete and asphalt paving operations.
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain).
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Excel‑based templates.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Willingness to travel to project sites outside the Memphis area.
- Ability to obtain and maintain military base access.
- Verifiable professional references.
- $100,000–$150,000, depending on experience.
