Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

This position will support the growing aggregate, material and paving businesses found within the Granite Companies of Memphis Stone & Gravel, Lehman-Roberts and Dickerson & Bowen. This role will be hired as a Lehman Roberts employee that will assist Project Managers in all aspects of preconstruction and the execution of projects with emphasis on the administration aspect of projects. • Subcontractor Management & Coordination
• Daily tracking of subcontractors on site, including crew sizes, quantities completed and required submittals
• Working directly with subcontractor representatives to coordinate scheduling, materials and project deliverables/deadlines
• Supervising subcontractor work to ensure specification compliance and verify we're only billed for acceptable work.
• Coordinating with DOT inspectors to ensure testing requirements and certifications are received timely

• Daily tracking of completed quantities, including incidental items not tied to direct pay items
• Assisting foremen with layout and daily production planning, including painting lines and relocating station numbers for paving operations
• Maintaining roadway centerline layout and monitoring/relocating as needed
• Perform, monitor and maintain project administration duties for assigned projects.

• Serving as Traffic Control Supervisor, monitoring setups for specification and MUTCD compliance
• Conducting required daily, weekly and scheduled traffic control inspections and addressing deficiencies.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

The employee is occasionally required to climb in and out, on and off equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may dig, spread, level and remove construction materials. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. • High School Diploma or GED is required, but a Civil Engineering degree is preferred.

• 0-2+ years of construction materials field experience
