Customer Marketing Manager: PG Range 13-15

The Customer Marketing Manager (CMM) serves as a liaison between marketing, sales, and our customers, ensuring that each account is meeting the needs of their consumers consistent with the strategies of the Imaging segment. This role serves to coordinate the development and implementation of go-to-market strategies with sales, marketing, customer service, supply planning, and the customer that support the initiatives of our customers and achieve the objectives of the Imaging segment.

This role requires 30-40% domestic travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement initiatives (promotional, training, etc.) that support both the overall and branded sales volume goals of assigned accounts.
  • Manage accrual and spending on promotional activities to maximize the return of Imaging Papers’ promotional spend at the assigned accounts.
  • Provide account management support. Specific activities include Customer Value Management (CVM) account support; catalog/web sell-in, review, and maintenance;
    Planogram analysis / sell-in; sales analysis, including analysis of customer POS data; development of internal/external presentations; ad hoc account requests; coordination/support of contract sales team.
  • Manage account level pricing. This includes keeping a confidential current price sheet and communicating with the customer, as appropriate. Successfully implement any market price announcements as well as customer specific adjustments.
  • Support the development of customer rebate programs that drive profitable sales and manage the accrual of those rebates to ensure accuracy.
  • Execute the Imaging eCommerce strategy at the account level. This includes eCommerce site product content maintenance, digital marketing, and Sylvamo SHOP.

Key metrics include segment and account level volume and profitability, managing to the accrued amounts for promotional spending, executing pricing in a timely manner, and accurate management of rebates.

The CMM must ensure that our customer specific initiatives meet the needs of our customers and support the strategy of the Imaging business. The CMM needs to be an advocate for both the customer and the Imaging business.

The Imaging Business relies on cooperation and execution from multiple staff groups including sales, marketing, customer service, supply chain, and information technology. The CMM needs to secure buy-in and ensure coordination with the functional areas that touch various customer initiatives. The CMM will need to accomplish work through others including those over whom he/she has little or no authority. He/she will need to persuade others to cooperate to achieve assigned account objectives.

The CMM must articulate an account strategy that supports the needs of assigned customers and the goals of the Imaging business clearly and succinctly throughout Sylvamo to ensure comprehension, alignment and execution by all departments. The CMM must also understand the strategies, tactics, and objectives of those departments that directly support customer initiatives to ensure alignment and identify any inconsistencies that may impede execution.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced business degree preferred
