Global Sourcing Coordinator

Job Description

The Global Sourcing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Direct Import efforts between category management teams in the Merchandising department and international Sourcing teams. This role will support all goals and objectives in accordance with the Global Sourcing Strategic Plan. The position is expected to execute new‑vendor onboarding projects by driving communication across departments, monitoring checklists and deadlines, and assisting the Merchandisers in obtaining alignment to move forward with new Direct Import projects.

• Manage deal process from opportunity identification to final execution or decision; manage approved deals from identification to product integration into regular replenishment process for all Direct Import deals offered to and concluded by Auto Zone. Lead weekly meetings with Sourcing Agents in all international offices, Category Teams/Managers, and appropriate cross‑functional teams, to ensure timely execution of approved projects.
• Conduct cost analysis for assigned teams, running Landed Cost Models (LCMs), and provide guidance to Merch teams on next steps and vendors on how to complete DI quotes and all the cost considerations.
• Coordinate, plan, organize, track, and manage designated projects to their completion that will positively impact Direct Import KPIs, for example: working with Marketing to resolve specific packaging issues, ensuring that Supplier Receivables Program (SCR) is successfully implemented, reviewing vendor agreement documents to ensure proper back‑end systems setup, and providing guidance to sourcing team and vendors on the different support teams projects/programs such as Virtual Warehouse.
• Record keeping in project management software (Workfront) to ensure the team has visibility into performance towards KPIs, execution timing of approved projects, and remaining work to properly onboard new vendors.

• Job experience or education in direct import/sourcing, including logistics, supply chain, customs, international business, or vendor management.
• Job experience or education in merchandising, retail, or automotive.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to use flexibility and creativity in problem solving.
• High level of financial skills and analytical abilities, including high‑level Microsoft Excel skills.
• Assertive, self‑starter, goal‑oriented multi‑tasker to drive the direct import program.

• International Business, Merchandising, Logistics, Supply Chain Management preferred.
• 1–2 years’ experience in direct import / sourcing preferred, and merchandising a plus.
• Experience traveling overseas and/or domestically, factory assessments, lean experience a plus.
• Languages:
  
  Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, Hindi, or Turkish.
