Our client is a large GMC dealership located in Memphis, Tennessee that sells new and used vehicles, provides vehicle servicing, parts, and financing. They’re known for high transparency (often earning excellent dealer ratings), a wide inventory, and a customer service approach aimed at simplifying the buying process.

Salary
: $35 – $45 per hour, negotiable based on experience and certifications.

Job Summary
:
The Dealership Automotive Technician will perform advanced maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, diagnosing complex mechanical and electronic issues to ensure maximum reliability, safety, and performance. This role requires expert technical skills, problem-solving ability, and strong communication to provide accurate repair estimates and customer guidance.

Job Responsibilities
:

  • Inspect vehicle engines, mechanical, electrical, and electronic components to accurately diagnose issues.
  • Repair, maintain, and upgrade vehicle computer and electronic systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as fluid replacements, lubrication, and preventive services to improve vehicle functionality and longevity.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and address issues such as leaks and system failures.
  • Provide accurate estimates of costs, time, and labor for repair and maintenance work.
  • Schedule and recommend future maintenance services and offer best practices for vehicle care.
  • Maintain detailed service logs and repair records.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work spaces clean and in safe operating condition.

Qualifications
:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic systems, tools, and repair methods.
  • Ability to operate a variety of tools and heavy equipment (e.g., lifts, pliers).
  • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent physical condition, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid automotive certifications (e.g., ASE) strongly preferred.
