The Client Accounting Manager (CAM) owns the client relationship and delivers accurate, timely, high‑quality accounting services for a portfolio of clients. CAMs manage the full accounting cycle, lead month‑end close and reporting, and are fully accountable for everything delivered to the client. This role blends strong technical accounting skills with client communication, review, and team leadership.
What You’ll Do- Manage the full accounting cycle for assigned clients, including month‑end close and financial reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients; all client communication flows through the CAM
- Review all work prepared by Client Accounting Assistants (CAAs) and remain accountable for accuracy, completeness, and deadlines
- Train, coach, and provide daily guidance to assigned CAAs
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 15–25 clients
, with CAA support as needed - Identify out‑of‑scope work and elevate appropriately
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve client processes and service quality
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
