Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, you will collaborate directly with the controller and play a key part in managing essential accounting operations, including month-end close procedures and job costing. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing service company while strengthening your attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

- Handle month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.

- Conduct job costing analysis to track and manage project expenses effectively.

- Assist in corporate tax return preparation and compliance with applicable tax regulations.

- Manage sales tax filings and ensure adherence to state and local requirements.

- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.

- Collaborate with the controller to support strategic financial initiatives and reporting.

- Provide detailed financial insights to support decision-making and operational improvements.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accounting standards.

- Monitor and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting roles.

- Proficiency in corporate tax return preparation and sales tax compliance.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries.

- Experience with job costing and financial analysis.

- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
