Senior Staff Accountant

About the Role:

We’re hiring a Senior Staff Accountant on behalf of a reputable and growing residential HVAC and plumbing company in the Fresno area. This position plays a key role in owning the general ledger, streamlining processes, and supporting leadership with timely, accurate financial reporting.

You’ll be part of a values-driven team in an essential services business — offering both stability and room to grow in a fast-paced, high-integrity environment.

• Lead monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
• Prepare internal financial statements and variance reports
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, AP/AR, and cash flow tracking
• Assist with the transition from Quick Books to a full ERP system (e.g., Sage Intacct)
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Collaborate across departments to improve reporting and workflow efficiency
• Support budgeting, audit prep, and process improvements

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience (service-based or multi-entity preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger operations
• Proficiency in Quick Books and/or Sage Intacct
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
• CPA or CPA track is a plus, not required
