Job Summary
:
Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager in the College of Dentistry the Payables Accounting Assistant processes vendor payable information, employee payroll, collects patient revenue, patient interaction, and other duties assigned as needed.

• Review invoice information for accuracy and apply payments properly.
• Enter new vendors and resolve payable issues.
• Serve as point of contact for student employees for payroll entry.
• Collect payments, review petty cash, and revenue collection.
• Deposit patient revenue into the accounting system and deliver to banks and Bursar’s office.
• Correspond with patients on balances and insurance information.
• Assist in returning badges and other items for exit clearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED (Transcript required).
• 4 years of business experience in financial reporting, cash handling, or related accounting roles; or Associate’s Degree plus 2 years experience; or Bachelor’s Degree in lieu of experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience with computer-generated spreadsheets.
• Ability to set priorities and work independently to meet deadlines.
• Clear and effective communication with faculty, staff, students, and vendors.
• Knowledge of patient account and accounting systems (preferred).
