About the Role
If you enjoy working with insurance carriers, solving billing issues, and keeping patient accounts accurate, this role may be a great fit. We’re looking for someone with 1–2 years of physician billing experience who understands Medicare/Medicaid
, medical insurance coverages, and the importance of timely follow‑up.
You’ll handle insurance claim submissions, review explanations of benefits, submit appeals, and communicate with both insurance companies and guarantors to resolve discrepancies. If you’ve worked with Epic
, that’s a plus — but not required. You’ll be part of a supportive team while still having the independence to manage your own accounts.
What You’ll Do
- Submit and follow up on primary and secondary insurance claims
- Verify patient insurance and demographic information
- Perform follow‑up on outstanding accounts
- Make outbound calls to insurance carriers for claim status
- Review and analyze EOBs and remittances
- Submit appeals for denials or underpayments
- Determine patient responsibility and resolve discrepancies
- Contact guarantors regarding insurance issues
- Update patient accounts and insurance details (
Epic preferred
) - Maintain strong documentation, communication, and analytical skills
- Support additional billing tasks as needed
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1–2 years of physician billing experience
, including carrier follow‑up - Knowledge of HIPAA and medical insurance regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and work independently
- Computer literacy and solid analytical skills
- Willingness to participate in training, seminars, and ongoing learning
- Epic experience is preferred

Must Have
Education High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Requirements- High School Diploma or GED
- 1–2 Years prior Physician Billing experience, including carrier follow up
- Knowledge of EPIC, preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer literate
- Ability to prioritize and multi‑task with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, and accept direction
- Participation in all educational activities, seminars and webinars
- There will be an onsite Interview for this role.
