Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Analyst to manage and optimize our clients’ tax compliance and recovery programs across the United States. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, identifying tax recovery opportunities, and driving process improvements in collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of U.S. tax regulations, excellent project management skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships with clients and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Management- Oversee and maintain tax documentation for multiple clients across various U.S. jurisdictions.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Research and interpret tax statutes to support compliance and planning initiatives.
- Lead initiatives to identify and recover overpaid or unclaimed taxes.
- Analyze historical transactions and identify tax refund opportunities.
- Develop and manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
- Track and report project progress and financial recovery outcomes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding tax compliance, reporting, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Accounting, Finance, Operations, Legal) to ensure alignment and efficiency.
- Communicate with external vendors or partners to verify tax documentation and eligibility.
- Maintain strong relationships to facilitate accurate tax processing and compliance.
- Prepare regular reports on tax recovery progress, compliance trends, and financial impacts.
- Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes and reduce tax exposure.
- Contribute to developing internal best practices and process automation initiatives.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in tax compliance, tax analysis, or related project management.
- Experience working with multi-jurisdictional tax regulations or exemption processing preferred.
- Project management certification (e.g., CAPM, PMP) is a plus but not required.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. tax laws and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven project management experience, including planning, tracking, and reporting on cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships across clients and internal teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management tools.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
