About the RoleA growing mid-sized manufacturing company in Suffolk County, Long Island is actively seeking a hands-on and experienced Assistant Controller to join their leadership team. This is a key strategic role reporting directly to the CFO
, responsible for overseeing core financial functions and supporting ongoing business growth through data-driven decision-making.

Note:

- Lead and manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, billing, cost accounting, payroll, budgeting, and tax compliance
- Analyze and monitor key financial metrics, identifying trends and performance indicators
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes; prepare internal and external financial statements
- Provide financial reporting and insights to the CFO and executive team
- Partner with operations and plant management to implement cost controls and increase profitability
- Support financial planning and capital investment decisions, including pricing, contracts, and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or MBA (strongly preferred)
- CPA designation (strongly preferred)
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience,
with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment - Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Deep understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, and standard costing
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Stable and Growing Manufacturer with a strong market presence
