POSITION STATEMENT
Lead the company fleet requirements, including but not limited to services, repairs, driver performance, and vehicle performance. Engage with all stakeholders on fleet performance and implement strategies to improve performance. Manage fleet vendors for forecasting and ensuring best purchase value
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Delegate fleet controllers to ensure fleet usage is maximized to prevent idle time.
- Ensure vehicle efficiency is optimal and embed practices to minimize costs.
- Ensure team is consistently tracking vehicle kilometers and irregular fuel patterns.
- Ensure servicing vehicles including routine maintenance and safety inspections.
- Communicate and engage effectively with service centers, dealerships and panel beaters for best deals, purchase value and pricing.
- Ensure the no-movement report can identify underutilized vehicles to improve fleet efficiency.
- Drive strategies to maintain the desired fuel loss target.
- Implement safe driving initiatives to encourage good behaviors from drivers to keep accident rate and traffic speeding fines low.
- Ensure all traffic fines are recorded, loaded on Fusion, with warnings issued where necessary.
- Achieve and maintain the desired insurance expenses and implement incentive schemes where required.
- Ensure incident reporting is accompanied by the required documentation.
- Verify that all OTDR and splice machines are active and accurately monitored through the tracking system.
- Ensure optical equipment is correctly allocated.
- Ensure all equipment serial numbers match those in Fusion and are correctly assigned.
- Ensure accurate and time-consuming reporting (weekly and monthly) of all areas.
- Lead a team of fleet controllers to ensure they are meeting their KPIs and staying up to date with their training and knowledge.
