Talent Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Job Category:
Human Resouces & Recruitment
Melrose Built is growing. With a strong pipeline across New Build and Fit Out, we are looking for a commercially minded People & Talent Business Partner to drive proactive workforce planning and strategic recruitment across the business.
This is not a reactive HR role. This is a market-facing, relationship-led talent role designed to ensure we always know who the best people are before we need them.
About the Role
Strategic Recruitment and Market Mapping
- Head hunting across commercial construction including Project Managers, Site Managers, Contract Administrators, Project Coordinators and specialist roles
- Actively resourcing the market and building talent pipelines
- Attending resourcing and project planning meetings to understand upcoming workforce needs
- Partnering with hiring managers to shape role briefs aligned to programme, margin and risk
- Providing insight on salary benchmarking and competitor activity
Onboarding, Training and Employee Lifecycle Ownership
- Updating and delivering the company induction to all new starters, ensuring alignment with culture, safety, systems and project delivery standards
- Partnering with hiring managers to design and implement bespoke role-based inductions aligned to project and commercial requirements
- Supporting structured 30, 60, 90 day plans and six month integration frameworks for all new hires
- Working with leaders to clearly define performance expectations and success measures for the first six months in role, for example a new Contract Administrator
- Managing the Training Needs Analysis process across the business, ensuring role-based capability requirements are identified and reviewed regularly
- Coordinating mandatory training requirements across the employee lifecycle, including WHS, compliance and role specific accreditations
- Maintaining oversight of training compliance and reporting, ensuring legislative and internal standards are met
- Supporting leaders to identify capability gaps and implement targeted development plans
Stakeholder Partnership
- Coaching hiring managers on recruitment process discipline
- Ensuring recruitment decisions are evidence based and aligned to long term capability
- Supporting workforce planning discussions at leadership level
About You
You are commercially astute and understand the construction environment. You know that poor hiring decisions impact programme, margin and culture.
You bring:
- Demonstrated experience in strategic recruitment, ideally within construction or property
- Confidence in direct sourcing and head hunting
- Strong stakeholder management capability
- The ability to move between operational detail and strategic workforce planning
- A structured mindset around onboarding and early stage performance
- You are comfortable challenging hiring managers where needed. You understand awards, risk and the importance of hiring right the first time.
- Parking provided - 5 minutes’ walk from Fortitude Valley Station
- 4 weeks annual leave plus 5 days paid wellbeing leave, available from your start date
- Generous paid parental leave for both the primary carer and secondary carer
- Regular social and work events, with genuine opportunities to build long term connections at Melrose
- Leadership that is genuinely invested in your development and committed to creating a culture where people feel supported and want to come to work
Why This Role Matters
The quality of our people determines the quality of our projects. This role ensures we build capability ahead of demand, not behind it.
If you enjoy being in the market, influencing leaders and building structured onboarding frameworks that set people up to succeed, this role offers genuine impact.
