The post:
An opportunity to recruit an experienced physiotherapist to lead the Orthopaedic inpatient AHP Team within Borders General Hospital. Leading and working in a multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will support patients in the acute setting to rehabilitate following elective surgery and trauma. The role has a mix of clinical and managerial responsibilities requiring skills in both areas.
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be reduced pro-rata, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay is not affected.
Responsibilities- Lead the Orthopaedic inpatient AHP Team within Borders General Hospital.
- Work in a multi-disciplinary team to support rehabilitation in the acute setting following elective surgery and trauma.
- Take on a mix of clinical and managerial responsibilities.
- Report on a number of Orthopaedic pathways and line-manage Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy staff from bands 3–6.
- Extensive experience in Orthopaedic rehabilitation is essential.
