Diesel Technician - Entry Level

Overview

Diesel Technician – CXI Trucking Inc., located at 2057 George St., Melrose Park, IL, is seeking an entry-level Diesel Technician. This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience, learn diesel maintenance and repair under experienced technicians, and develop technical skills in a fast-paced shop environment. • Pay Range: $50,000 - $65,000 annually, negotiable based on experience
• Schedule:
  
  Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Reports To:
  
  Fleet Maintenance Manager
• Pay Frequency:
  Weekly pay via Direct Deposit

• Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel vehicles, including engines, transmissions, steering, and brake systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and conduct failure analysis using precision tools (micrometers, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment)
• Ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA regulations
• Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and repair times
• Conduct safety inspections and preventive maintenance
• Assist with roadside service calls and breakdowns as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment

• 0-3 years of diesel mechanic experience
• ASE Diesel Certification (preferred)
• Valid CDL Class B license (preferred)
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, systems, and diagnostic equipment
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• High attention to detail and proficiency with repair tools
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment
• Required to provide own standard mechanic tools necessary for diesel repair
