Risk Manager/Analyst, Financial Analyst
The AVP Relationship Officer serves as a critical lead in the loan’s lifecycle, driving loan production and maintaining rigorous portfolio management standards. This role is responsible for ensuring the health and performance of an assigned portfolio through expert underwriting, proactive risk monitoring, and efficient loan administration.
Acting as the primary liaison between business development, credit, and operations, the AVP Relationship Officer ensures that all lending activities align with the Bank’s credit parameters while facilitating the growth of commercial and consumer relationships.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, coordinating all banking needs and relationship activities.
- Participate in team sales calls and attend external events to support business development efforts.
- Manage credit quality and ongoing monitoring of portfolio risk.
- Retain and grow the existing loan portfolio through proactive relationship management.
- Partner with Treasury Management and internal teams to grow fee income, deposits, and portfolio revenue by delivering tailored financial solutions.
- Perform preliminary evaluation and underwriting of loan requests, including term sheets and credit proposals.
- Work closely with the Credit Department to prepare loan approvals and facilitate the approval process.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to lending policies and procedures to meet community and market needs.
- Manage the end-to-end loan request process, including financial and market analysis and proposal development.
- Request, review, and manage third-party appraisals and reports, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal departments throughout the loan process.
- Coordinate and finalize loan closings with external attorneys or the internal Closing Department.
- Oversee loan renewals, covenant tracking, and document tickler systems.
- Monitor loan documentation and financial statement exception reports in a timely manner.
- Partner with Lenders to manage maturing loans and renewal strategies.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and manage delinquent account activity, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Generate portfolio and management reports.
- Manage existing participation portfolios and develop new participation opportunities.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, finance, accounting, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a banking environment with a strong emphasis on credit and/or lending.
- Prior loan underwriting experience required.
- Ability to successfully complete Loan Vantage system training within 90 days.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements, projections, and corporate and personal tax returns.
- Strong understanding of loan structures, documentation requirements, and lending regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
